If you’re just about to start your teeth whitening journey, you’ll no doubt have a few questions to fire off about the great range of products we stock at Active Smile. In this blog, we’re tackling some of the most common questions asked when using a home teeth whitening kit to improve your smile. Let’s do this!
How many times do I have to use the kit to get results?
Depending on the shade of your teeth before you start whitening, your kit may take up to 6 uses to get the maximum result. Past the six uses, any results you see can be easily maintained by consistent use. Always read the directions first and never overuse the product as doing so may make your gums and teeth overly sensitive.
Will it make my teeth sensitive?
Our product should not make your teeth sensitive if used exactly according to directions. You’ve purchased a high quality dental whitening program with the Active Smile kits. If you do however, experience pain or sensitivity, discontinue use immediately.
What is the mouth tray made of?
Active smile dental reservoirs are made of medical grade silicon, which is safe and effective for the task at hand.
Can I use the kit if I have braces?
We do not recommend that you use our whitening products if you wear braces, as the whitening process will be uneven. If you are desperate to brighten your smile and wear braces, always consult your orthodontist first to ensure it is appropriate.
Can I use Active Smile Whitening kits during my pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
It is not recommended to use our whitening kits while pregnant or breastfeeding. You may however, find our charcoal whitening pots are a great substitute to use while nursing or pregnant.
Can I share my kit with a friend or partner?
What age do I need to be to use the kit?
Generally, we recommend users to be over the age of twelve when using our whitening kits. Our charcoal pots may be a better choice for improving the whiteness of your teeth if you are under this age.
Do Active Smile products work on veneers?
No, they don’t. You will only see results on your natural teeth, so be aware that your veneers will not alter in colour at all.
